Thirty years ago, finishing residency meant entering the upper class. Today, inflation and a widening wealth gap have hollowed that promise out. The work got harder. The debt got bigger. The destination moved.
The standard advice makes it worse: save diligently, invest “wisely,” buy the house, protect what you have. That path preserves a salary. It does not build wealth. Wealth comes from positioning capital where it can return five, ten, and twenty times, with the downside understood before a dollar moves.
That is what I do. It is what my investor group does. And it is what I teach.
